I was born in Abruzzo, a montane and wild region of Central Italy, where my love for animals and nature manifested itself from the very first years of my life.

I decided to further develop my passion by pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences and later a master’s degree in Evolutionary Biology. I’m at the moment a PhD student in Zoology, dividing my time between the University of Bologna, Italy and the Natural History Museum of Denmark. During my studies and research activity I had the fortune to travel around the world carrying out fieldwork activities in amazing places, some of which I was dreaming since I was a little kid, growing a special love and appreciation for tropical ecosystems and their overwhelming biodiversity.

My passion for photography was born first as a tool for documenting and cataloging my wildlife encounters, something that helped me in building my knowledge about the zoological world. It later grew into a powerful instrument for communicating such encounters and sharing with others the beauty of the natural world.
